Moonbathing
Cruel things are done
Under the sun
By those who fear the dark
There is lots of fun
Under the sun
But only in the park

I am moonbathing on a warm night
In the pale blue light
Moonbathing on a warm night
To see the world aright

The people who keep
The money they reap
Bolt their castles to the dark
And those who weep
In their sleep
Close their shutters to the dark

If only they'd go moonbathing on a warm night
In the pale blue light
Moonbathing on a warm night
To see the world aright

There is too much joy
In this boy
To keep him from the dark
When the clock strikes twelve
He is an elf
And runs in his midnight park

He goes moonbathing on a warm night
In the pale blue light
Moonbathing on a warm night
To see the world aright

He will never be
Mercenary
He may never make his mark
But the owl will know
The deer also
The worth of the walk he walks

They see him moonbathing on a warm night
In the pale blue light
Moonbathing on a warm night
To see the world aright

The moon has typically been associated with evil: Roger Bacon claimed 'Many have died from not protecting themselves from the rays of the moon'. I've always found moonlight to be peaceful, protective and inspiring. So that's what this song is about.
