17/10/2008 Just back from an amazing Rusalnaia tour and I'm now looking forward to playing some solo shows in Italy next month. Dates will be posted soon. 20/02/2008 2008 is an exciting year for me in terms of releases, as well as The Fox's Wedding, the new Tau Emerald album Travellers Two is now out on Important Records.
Also out is the Rusalnaia s/t album, on Camera Obscura Records.
Plans for touring are shaping up, here's what should be happening:

23/12/2007 Yuletide greetings, one and all! The lovely new vinyl edition of Leaves From Off the Tree is now out on Bo'Weavil Recordings. Also available for pre-order from the Durtro website, the new solo album: The Fox's Wedding. This cd will be officially released on March 10th.
Released for download with brand new artwork on Woven Wheat Whispers. Tours of Europe and the US are being planned for spring/summer 2008.
27/05/2007 Right Wantonly A-Mumming: Seasonal Songs and Celebrations

24/03/2007 Lots of new recording projects coming to completion: Seasonal Songs album due for release on Bo'Weavil this summer, a Rusalnaia album coming out on Camera Obscura later in the year and I'm currently finishing my next solo album, which will come out after that. Also in the pipeline, a Tau Emerald album and The Midnight Chorus, a collection of improvised pieces. Magdalena Nicolussi from Austria recently created a comic book based on one of my songs, The Pale Prisoner. She kindly sent me a pdf of her artwork, which you can download (3.5 MB)
01/11/2006 More new releases: Leaves From Off The Tree is now out on Bo'Weavil Records. The album is all traditional songs, recorded with Meg Baird and Helena Espval.
Singing Knives just released a compilation called Singing At The Moon which has a track by Tau Emerald (duo with Tara Burke). Also on the record: tracks by Nalle, The One Ensemble of Daniel Padden and lots of other great bands.
19/10/2006 Abaton Book Company have just released a limited edition lathe cut 7" of two traditional songs I recorded for my favourite twins.
25/08/2006 I'm spending the summer working on various recording projects. An album of traditional songs recorded with Meg Baird and Helena Espvall will be released by Bo'Weavil Recordings very soon. Next up: I'll be recording an album of seasonal songs with an ensemble of folk singers/musicians including John Spiers, Jon Boden and Ian Giles. A few UK gigs in November - check out the Gigs page as more dates get added. 12/04/2006 Some minor tour chaos: Christian can't make the east coast shows, and I can't get to the far flung places, so I'll be playing the remaining shows together with Alec K. Redfearn on accordion and Helena Espvall on cello. Check the gigs page for what's happening. New Feather Gatherers 7" out on Singing Knives Records. The Feather Gatherers is Deerpark's Jon Marshall's side project with me playing an assortment of instruments. Songs for the Twins: a cd of children's songs - nursery rhymes and folk songs - that I recorded for the birth of Lucy Elizabeth and Jay Rowan Fletcher in January is available as a cdr. 13/09/2005 There's a new interview at Nucleus: an Argentinian website for symphonic/progressive rock and avant-progressive/new music. 28/08/2005 Just got back from an amazing 2 weeks travel round Bulgaria and my head's spinning, full of Bulgarian songs and tunes. I have a track on the brand new compilation put out by Honeymoon Music. Other artists on the comp. include Fursaxa, Phosphene, Niagara Falls. Various projects in the pipeline: The Black Dove, a collaboration with Christian Kiefer, will be released on Tompkins Square early next year. I'm about to start mixing Leaves From Off The Tree: a collection of traditional songs recorded with Meg Baird and Helena Espvall of Espers and that should be ready for release next summer.. I'll be playing some UK shows in November with Fursaxa and will post dates on the Gigs page when we get that organised. · Sharron's session for VPRO Radio in Amsterdam can be heard online here. · Songs of Love and Loss made various best of 2004 lists including the Philadelphia Citipaper's Best Local CDs of 2004 and Arthur Magazine's "80 Goddamn Good Things of 2004". · Sharron is interviewed in the current issue of Ptolemaic Terrascope. · Sharron is one of the singers featured in Songlines on BBC Radio Scotland this week. The programme investigates the history and variety of the traditional border ballad The Dowie Dens of Yarrow. · There's an interview and a concert review in Belgian Goth magazine, Dark Entries. · I have had to pull out of most of the UK shows with Deerpark due to a nightmare cough and bad throat. My voice has been useless for the past week and so I came home to rest and hopefully will be able to sing in time for the Oxford show at the Zodiac. My apologies to anyone who was disappointed. I hate to cancel shows. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play some UK shows later in the year. · The Belgian tour was amazing. Thanks to all the people who came out, gave us food, drink and a place to stay. There's a review of the 't Ey show in Storing and one of the Bunker show in KindaMuzik. · Sharron is one of 19 artists, including Flying Saucer Attack, Lush and Christian Kiefer, to cover Wire's 'Outdoor Miner' on A Houseguest's Wish, released by Minneapolis label, Words on Music.

· The new album Songs of Love and Loss is now out on Camera Obscura Records.
· The March issue of The Wire features Sharron along with Espers, Fursaxa, Scorces in an article on Philadelphia's burgeoning underground folk scene. · A summer of recording: I've been working on the new album at home and at Dungeon Studios out in the cotswolds. Recording should be finished by the end of september and then I'm off to Philadelphia for a while, to live with the wonderful Espers and Heather Leigh Murray (Charalambides). Mixing will happen late october with Jeffrey Alexander in Providence. · Just got back from my California/Texas trip. Many fun gigs were played, plus a whole album of new material was written and recorded with Christian Kiefer. He's currently doing the mixing and hopefully we'll put it out later in the year. Next up, recording my new album for Camera Obscura.. · A new review of Beautiful Twisted just appeared at Matamore. It's in French. · The March UK Iditarod/Sharron Kraus tour was shitloads of fun. · Sharron will be talking to Ian Anderson about the future of English folk music on March 19th on Radio 3 (9.30 pm) as part of a four and a half hour program called 'A Place Called England' along with Birdloom partner Muud, Billy Bragg, and others. The program starts at 7.30 pm and also features live performances by Waterson:Carthy, Spiers and Boden, and interviews with Shirley Collins and June Tabor. · Yuletide, a cd of wintery songs and soundscapes Sharron recorded with the Iditarod, is now out on elsie and jack records.
· Beautiful Twisted is listed in Rolling Stone Magazine's Critics' Top Albums of 2002. · Sharron is featured in The Broken Face #15, out now. · New pictures taken by Maude Swift. · Sharron is working on an album of traditional English folk songs set to electronic music with Muud from Loop Guru. · Sharron plays clarinet on The Iditarod's contribution to T5: a box set of 7" records released by Time-Lag Records to coincide with the Terrascope 5 festival.
